When anyone in our office makes a call to someone who has caller id (particularly cell phones), the number shown is our BTN # as the incoming (which is also an extension that has been assigned to an employee). When they return the call, they get an extension at our office instead of going to reception. We want our original phone number that was ported over to be the one showing up on caller ID, so when people return a call to our office based on the caller ID, it comes to our reception.

Is this a function of our equipment? or the provider? We asked our provider to change the number, said it was done, but it's still showing BTN #.

it is partly both - but the CO can overide the Norstar

If you own the ported number with the same phone company - they can set it as the number to be displayed for OG calls

If they let the Norstar control it - then hte parameter called OLI in every extension needs to be configured with the number u want to get displayed
