On a BCM400 with the trunks coming in via DTI T1 channels, how do I get the caller ID to work? Or must the DTI T1 be converted to PRI? Thanks.

first thing you need to do is make sure that your carrier will do "In Band ANI" some will not.

According to the LEC, the T1 does send In-Band ANI. But will that display on the BCM? I'm being told that CLID only works with Analog lines and ISDN (BRI or PRI, but not DTI). Is that true?

Incoming calls ring at receptionist, and then transfer to extensions (not DID).

Not sure where the programming is in the BCM, but in the MICS under the line data there is a prombt that ask
ANI: y/n. You set that to yes and it works for ANI.

Philbert221 check your other post I left some info there.

No settings on the BCM will help you...on digital trunks you must have a D channel, or no caller ID...need PRI or BRI.

I was shown how to do it once and the Phoe co needs to send a string of something like * * clid * *. Some thing like this But it has to match or it wont work.Nortel support should Know. Ha ha..
