I posed the following question directly to Avaya, and after several days with no response so I sent it again and got a hurried, half-azzed answer(big surprise) so I thought maybe someone in there could help me out. If you respond, please be clear and detailed. Thanks in advance.

We are proposing a Partner system to a customer with Partner Messaging, 2-Port. Customer would like to be automated 24/7, with no ringing on the inbound call. This, I believe, is where I'm going to have a problem regarding the passing of the Caller ID information.

1) If the customer decides that they do not want the phones ringing on the inbound call, does the Caller ID information get passed to the destination extension BEFORE they answer the call?

2) The customer is considering designating an option on their Auto Attendant for "Ring all phones".....which I would simply create a calling group(71) and have that option on the AA transfer to all phones via the group call feature. If the caller chooses this option, and all of the desired phones ring, does THIS way pass the caller ID information to all of the ringing phones?

Take ringing off of all phones and set your VMS Hunt Delay (# 506) to 2 or 3 rings.

I must warn you that with a 2 port you may have callers getting a busy signal if you have more than 2 incomming lines, you may want to set a couple of phones at 4-5 rings to be a back up if the VMS is busy.

that doesn't really answer the question that I am asking.

Yes, it should follow to your group, you will have to set the VMS to answer at 2 or 3 rings so you will capture the CID info. If 2 doesn't work you will need to try 3

Make sure your processor is release 6. Before 6 you would only see VMS on your screen until the call is answered.
