Hey I have a client (MICS 4.1) who is going from a PRI design to traditional trunk lines. (Dont ask me why!)BUT
The Voicemail(NAM) is set up for automatic answer. As we know the caller id information is sent in call setup, thus allowing the system to capture the Caller information immediately. Switching back POTS lines how would I program the Modular ICS to continue to be automatic answer but allow the system to capture the caller ID now that it will be two rings before it is recieved?

Yeah I would that is the logical answer.... but you know customers they are so reluctant to change!

There are always tradeoffs.

When you find out why they are changing to POTS let us know the reasoning. How many POTS are they going to? Less than 10?

Yes, I would assume downsizing their lines, too. As for the Caller ID info, it's passed between ring cycles 1 and 2 so your customer has no choice but to live with it, after all he/she is the one going from PRI to POTS.
