I have a CICS version 4.1 and I would like to have CLID display on all of the phone sets without having to F811. Is there a way to do this with 4.1???? I have read many previous posts regarding this issue, but most of them were using version 6.1. I have 4 lines in 1 line pool A. I am pretty sure that I need 6.1 software, but want to be sure.

Yes, it will work on your CICS as long as the lines ring on each set that you want caller ID on.
Go under Telco Features and set it for each line and set you want turned on.

It is the MICS that requires newer software. CICS is fine.

Marv,

How do the lines need to be set up in order for this to work? This system currently has 4 lines set to appear & ring on all phones. Will the caller id automatically display with this setup?? Under telco features I already have caller id turned on as well as on every phone set.

I have noticed that if a call comes in and is not answered the auto attendent picks up, then if that person were to dial an extension, that phone will automatically display the caller id without pressing f811. However, in this case we have a live person answering all calls during the day, not the AA. And we would like to have caller id display without having to F811.

Thanks in advance,

Travis

Are they or AA answering on first ring? CLID usually comes end of first ring or start of 2nd ring.Under Telco features, feature assign, show line, then show again, caller ID set should be Y for all lines you want CLID.Is 1st display set for name, number or line? And yes line has to ring at each set to get CLID before picking up call not just appear.

The office staff are answering the phones. I am aware of the 2nd ring issue and even if we wait till 4th ring still no caller id. Under telco features like you described I have caller id set to Y for all four lines. 1st display was set to name, however I changed it to number. Under station features I have line 1-4 set up to appear and ring on every phone in the building. I believe all 4 lines are assigned to Pool A. Caller ID does work, but only if the AA picks up the call first (AA is set to pick up the call after 3 rings.) We have the office staff picking up the phone.

Thanks,
Travis

Did you allocate your Call Log Space in System Programming?
