I have a customer with a TDA 200, V3.2 in a residence (U.S.A.) that is experiencing CID issues. They have 4 pots lines all with CID. Only line 1 is showing CID. I tried swapping trunk cards and CID cards. Only CID cards made a change, it went from showing CID on line 1 to line 3. I have checked to make sure CID is working with my butt-set, it does. I tried calling Tech Support but their comment was " the system does not except any and all garbage CID from the phone company (AT&T) like a $12 dollar CID unit." Which is pretty ignorant. Any ideas people?

you have tested all 4 lines for caller i.d. and they all work thats a start.have you checked to see if loop current on all 4 lines is at an acceptable level below 30 ma .on and off hook line voltage -48vdc ?

so you have done a loop current check on all 4 lines?

wow I'd start pointing my at the trunk card or the caller id
card are you sure the caller id card is seated properly?
no bent pins crust etc?

Yes, I've swapped the trunk card. I also looked to see if their are any bent pins, no go. This is why it is so frustrating, it seems to me like I have checked everything. The only thing I can think of is that the CID on the Panasonic product sucks.

who is your dialtone provider you are not running through a pair gain box or thru a slick or anything funky just plain old pots lines? I am running a 50 rev 4 here and had no proplems ever I even have vonage on one line......

BTW what rev tda is this that you having problems with?

The provider is AT&T, and no it is not running through a slick or off of a PairGain unit. Also, it is a TDA 200 running 3.2 software.

Just to recap, when you monitor the line with your buttset and the line is connected to the TDA200, the CID burst registers on the buttset, but not the TDA200?

Does the CID burst sound the same on all the lines? No chopped preamble?

....JIM....

I have a CID butt-set, the CID shows up all the time on the other lines. Wasn't listening for the burst.
