I have a customer with (2) Merlin Legend R7.0 (centralized voicemail at Site A) that we just networked using 6-channels of a point to point PRI. Site A receives all calls and then routes to Site B if needed. Site A receives Caller ID information, but Site B does not. Is this a limitation of the Merlin Legend that it will not pass the Caller ID over the PT to PT PRI or do I need to configure something differently?

The answer depends on how the call "routes to Site B". Is it done by Automated Attendant or by a live operator? It's a crazy question with a real answer.

The annoying and dry explanation can be found on page 3.5 (Adobe Acrobat page 161) of the MERLIN LEGEND® Communications System Release 6.1 Network Reference.

Post back and I'll give you a human answer that you can understand.

Thanks for the response. This customer has 8 POTS lines that ring into an Auto-Attendant at Site A and then route to Site B from the Auto-Attendant or else are manually transfered from the operator extension. According to the doc's it doesn't support Caller ID in that situation. It looks like the only way to get Caller ID to pass is with DID's routing directly to the extension at Site B.

Hi Telecomboy,

And that would be with DID numbers delivered via PRIMARY ISDN. No other service type with DID numbers will give you CID on the Legend/Magix.
