I have a customer with a standard t-1 using two-way DID trunks. They want caller ID. Their provider told them they could change some of the inbound trunks to loop start and send caller ID information. I didn't think the t-1 card would pass the caller ID info using loop start trunks. I am only aware of PRI doing this. I wanted to see if anyone else had done this, or knows if it can or can't be done. Also, can the legend send out any numbers or such over two way DID trunks like it can on a PRI?

T1 cannot do CallerID unless it is PRI. The only CallerID that T1 can 'transmit' is a single number that is programmed against the whole group in the carrier's switch, not the Legend.

Some carriers might be able to change the trunk group to send ANI and DNIS to the Legend, and that would give you ANI, but is NOT callerID. Also note that depending on traffic you may need more TTR's as that would change the number of digits for each call from 3 or 4 (for typical DID) to 13+DID length (*npanxxxxxx*DNIS*).
