I have the above setup on our internal business system. Im assuming with this and the Caller ID cards, we should be able to receive Caller ID. I went through the steps outlined in the following link with no success. The call coming in still says "Line 1 Transfer" or whatever line is calling in.

I know that our phone company supposedly had just turned on our Caller ID ability so we SHOULD be receiving the correct signals. Is there any obvious stumbling block that novice techs could overlook? Right now, as soon as you call our number, the Auto Attendant picks up right away. I was reading that maybe it has to let it ring twice before picking up to allow the Caller ID info to transfer to our system. I know you guys are probably tired of answering Caller ID issues but I tried to search here on the forums and have come up empty. Thanks all for your assistance.

You answered your own question. Set the AA to 2 rings.

We dont get tired, even after 10 years here.

To further explain on analog lines the CLID signal is sent between the 1st and 2nd ring and why 2 rings for AA is the setting to use per you and Atcom.
Digital lines like PRI would give it right away.

Thank you for the clarification gentlemen. I will set it for two rings and see what progress is made.

Thanks again!

Here is something else you might want to note.

After you will have set the AA to answer at the second ring, you will still see "Line 1 Transfer" on the display when a call is transferred to you. However, this message will appear only for about 3 seconds. After that, the caller name (or the caller number, if no name is provided) will be shown until the call is answered.

If it is received by the system, Caller ID is always displayed for ringing transferred calls. There is no programming needed.

Ok, after changing the AA to 2 rings, it appears to work. The only issue I have now is that after a call comes in and is completed, the date and time reset back to April 1, 2013 and 12 hours ahead in time. If I go immediately and reset it to where it is supposed to be, it will stay that way until another call comes in, then react the same way. As soon as I turn off the Caller ID stuff, the date and time will stay where I set it.
Is there something else I am missing?? Like I said before, following and enabling the extension to Appr&Ring allows it to work as I figure it should, minus the time/date issue. I haven't enabled anything else that I can think would interfere with this. I first assumed CMOS(or the equivalent in a MICS) battery was on its way out, but it functions fine w/o the caller ID enabled. Any help would again be greatly appreciated. Thanks for putting up with my insane little issues.

@Multimedium - Yes, I did notice that after getting it all set up. It only last for a second before the correct number calling in is displayed. Just wish the darn time/date would stay set so I could fully use this system. The time/date are more critical than getting the CID set up, unfortunately.

When the system receives Caller ID, it receives 3 pieces of data:
[ul]
[li]The name of the caller.[/li]
[li]The number of the caller.[/li]
[li]The date and time of the call.[/li]
[/ul]

Your system appears to be set to automatically update its date and time whenever it receives a call. If the date and time from the CO is unreliable or just wrong, you can disable this feature. Set the following value to No:

System Programming > Feature Settings > Auto Time & Date

I was unaware that it had that capability otherwise that seems like an easy Google. Thank you very much and I'll jump on that here in a bit to see if it stops doing that.

Thanks again!

I have a quick basic question on the overall functionality of the CID. Anywhere Ive read, you have to have Appr&Ring enabled on whichever lines you wish to see the caller ID info on. What about if you have an extension that you don't want to ring every time a call comes in but want them to be able to see the CID of a transferred call to their extension? Is this possible? Can you just change the Appr&Ring to Appr and it will work or does it have to be set the other way to function? Basically, the owner want to have CID on any calls transferred to his extension but doens't want to be bothered by calls coming into the AA and going elsewhere. I would imagine this has to be doable. Once again, not asking for it to be mapped out as I wont learn anything in the process but would like to know I'm not chasing a snipe.

Thanks again guys, you have been extremely helpful on any and all questions Ive asked. Cant thank you guys and this forum enough!

That's unfortunate that you have to have a function/button to see it w/o Appr&Ring. Thanks for letting me know though.

When CLID is received it is tagged to the call, if it's answered after the 2nd ring. When the call is transferred either manually of by the AA the caller ID IS displayed on the transferred to DN.

Curly is talking about new calls not yet answered. If you wish to see the CLID of a new call on a non ringing phone you must dial F811.

Yahtzee! That is how I was expecting it to work. Basically you just have to have CID setup on that extension, but not for the incoming calls. Not sure if I'm saying that right but I believe I know what I have to do to make this work.

Thank you, I'll report back after making the changes.

You shouldn't need to program anything on the non ringing phones to CLID on transferred calls. Make the calls are transferred and not just put on hold.
