Caller ID on 3x8 Software 1

Ok Help!
I have a 3x8 nortstar system ds5 i believe. Well it supports caller id. How can i setup my phones to display the caller ID information B4 picking up the handset. Is this possible in this system? Also my Basic T7100 Series phone is Displaying "CALLS FOR YOU"

Can someone help me.
 
You cannot support caller ID on that version or system. Unless you find a CLID box, system so old might not even be worth it.

Calls for you is usually becuase someone from the same system tried to call you and requested a call back from you. Equivalent to text messaging on a cell phone.
 
3X8 @DR5 does support CallerID
Not familiar with the programming interface - it should be somewhere under lines/trunk data

The DR5 software does support CID on this system. I just need to figure out hot to display it b4 lifting the handset. That is the whole purpose of Caller ID to See who it is b4 its answered. As Far as Calls for you how do i remove it from the Phone. LOL I have tried everything in the system. Other then that its a Great System.
 
With the 3x8 you can only have 1 of the phones show the CLID automatically before answering . The line must ring at the phone. The programming is under call services. To see the CLID at other phones before answering, you can press feat811.

Your other question about "call for you" means logging is enabled for that DN. You can either turn off the logs under admin/ logs, or change your logging options via feat*84
 
Have you tried to let the call ring 2 times before answering? Also for the Message try F65 or F#65 to see if that clears it.

Can anyone answer on a similar topic do all 3x8 DR5.1 systems support CID?

 
Redtape- Yes, I believe they all support CLID, but the system must be programmed for it, as detailed above.
 
i find the instructions somewhat confusing above.
i have a DR5 systtem now, and understood it didnt have caller ID,by that i mean external Caller ID not "front desk, or "managers office". For this reason i was going to buy a DR 5.1 but if there is an activation for the DR5 please let me know and it would save me some dough.

if your SP # is > M05, then you have a DR5.1
Post your SP#, if you dont have the decoding list

Of course you need to subscribe to callerID services from the LEC as well
 
The Norstar 3x8 came out with a DR1, DR5 & DR5.1 the DR1 is the only one that dosn't support caller ID. The caller ID has to be programmed to your sets only one set will come up with the call info you will have to program a key for F811 & you need the telco to provide the feature on the lines.
 
sorry for not understanding, perhaps i am a level in knowledge below you, i dont know how to find out thos software revisions so i will post my model no. here and maybe you can direct me more how to get the info from the ksu.

I don't know about 3x8 but in most systems if you go to Maintenance you will find SP#
 
where is maintenance? do i log in as admin or config because
i dont see that option under either of those logins
 
do you have the login procedure for the system?

hit next and go to maintenance
show
and you'll see the SP

can anyone help me out on this? I need to know about this login etc before i buy another unit, i need to figure out if it supports caller ID, and while i am at it, if anyone has alot of knowledge on the ATA2 i could use some support there.
I had some help in a forum some months ago but i think that communication was an issue, the support person was above my knowledge, so therefore i still have this ATA2 that i am trying to get to work on this system so that i can have my Panasonic GigaRange 2.4ghz work on the system.
would be willing to phone someone at my expense if nescessary to get the thing working.

Login = F**Config then pswd.(you said you know about Admin and Config)

Then do just as senks1 instructed, to display the SP.

The bill is in the mail.

I must be a moron or something,
Login=F** does F mean Feature?
I do Feature ** CONFIG and it brings me to the menu
Lines, Sets,Call Handling,Restrictions, Overides, I dont see anywhere for password or the stuff that senks1 wrote about.
