Hi everyone,

I've struggled with this for a bit and am at a dead end, I'm hoping someone out there might have some thoughts.

I have a BCM450 with a SIP trunk to an Asterisk server. All calls are working fine, however, when a call is presented from a local extension on the BCM to a local extension on the Asterisk, the CID is "anonymous".

I've noticed that the Presentation indicator is "Presentation restricted" whereas calls that do send the CID (from external for example), it's not restricted.

[Type of Number: ESN CDP]
[Screening indicator: User provided, not screened]
[Presentation indicator: Presentation restricted]

Anyone have any suggestions of settings I may have missed?

MCDN is turned on.

Thanks!

NOt sure exactly, but you can probably turn off MCDN if possible since that is a Nortel specific networking protocol of sorts. Unfortunately I don't have a SIP enabled BCM handy so I am guessing on this. I do know that the BCM and Nortel stuff in general doesn't always interoperate very well in these scenarios. SIP especially can be interesting since everyone kind of has their own flavor even thought there is a IEEEE standard.

The only way I have been able to get Nortel systems to talk to non-NOrtel systems with minimal drama is by doing a QSIG T1 between the two, but your talking about a lot of investment for T1 hardaware on both sides...

Surprisingly enough, the actual SIP trunk is working great. :)

The call display on the phones on the AST side coming up as Anonymous though is driving them nuts.
