Howdy,

I have a site with a Norstar System, Model NT5B01FD-93, Release 02B
Phones being used are the T7208's and maybe a 4 line model.

The issue I am having is, when the user calls a person on the outside, our numbers are not appearing on their caller ID's.
I have tried calling multiple locations with caller ID, but our number still shows up as restricted.

I contacted our Telco provider, who confirmed placing the function on our outgoing calls.

Any ideas?

Looks like you have a 616. Nothing in the programming of that unit will affect your outgoing caller ID and in order to have incoming caller ID you would need added hardware of a C6 or M8 unit. Therefore, if you call out and the recipient sees a restricted call, that is entirely an issue with your Telco provider. However, if you just received your phone number(s), there is a little time that has to go by before all of the regional CNAM databases are updated with the name info propagated by your carrier. I believe this is an issue to be resolved at your carrier's end.

What, exactly, did you confirm with your provider ?

Simply test the line with your test set before the KSU to prove its the carrier.

Telco Carrier is Verizon...

They confirmed that our Caller ID was updated:
"The Caller ID feature on your line is programmed to show incoming name, number or both. The incoming caller may have their caller ID BLOCKED, so that you can not see their name or number."

That being said,
Yeah, I don't think there is anything in the Nortel system that would be blocking the caller ID from appearing on someone's phone.

I am confused in your posts. Your first post talks about an outbound call showing up at a recipient's site with caller ID "restricted." You said, "when the user calls a person on the outside, our numbers are not appearing on their caller ID's"

In your post above your talk about caller ID for incoming callers. If you do not have a C6 or M8 "box" in addition to your 616 KSU, there is no way for your system to receive and decode caller ID for incoming calls. (You have not told us what DR level the software is, either).

If you are talking about outgoing caller ID, first be sure your line with Verizon is not marked as a private line (unlisted / unpublished) number. That is a carrier issue. If you have Verizon VOIP, then you have a customer web-based login with Verizon where you can set that private attribute to your number, for outbound purposes. That has nothing to do with your INCOMING caller ID for name, number or both.

What, exactly, are your talking about?

Yes it does appear you have an issue of "outgoing" but the carriers response is about "incoming.
I would say call your carrier back and get to the issue of "outgoing".
