We have recently installed CCM 3.2 and Unity 3.1 for our Main Office and branches (250 sets). During inital testing we found that although Bellsouth was send Caller ID name and number down our PRI cirucits only the Caller ID number was appearing on our 7960/7940 phones. I learned from Bellsouth’s Technical Support Manager, that the 5ESS switch we are serviced by provides CallerID name delivery via the facility information element in the Q931 call setup via our PRI circuits. He indicated that he does see CallerID name delivery provided both in the facility information element (formatted in Hex) and in the display information element (formatted in ASCII) when working with PRI circuits. According to Cisco they currently only support Caller ID name delivery via the display information element in the Q931 call setup. Bellsouth checked with 5ESS technical support to determine if the 5ESS was capable of being configured to deliver CallerID name via the display information element instead of the facility information element. According to Bellsouth the 5ESS was not capable of being configured to provide the Caller ID name in the display information element. Bellsouth indicated that the Nortel DMS100 switch used in some areas did deliver CallerID name via the display information element, but there is not a DMS switch that services our area. 5ESS switches are used in 50% of the COs in Bellsouth's 9 state region, while DMS100s are only used in 35% of the COs. Has anyone else been successful in getting Caller ID name delivery on CCM? If so, what switch type is providing this service from your CO? If it is a 5ESS I would love to talk with you. We are looking for a solution to provide both name and number CallerID information on our 7940/7960 sets. I can be reached at cloughry@cavb.com E. Cannon Loughry, III

I have the same issue. When I opened up a TAC case to try to get it working I got the same results you did. The TAC engineer did say that 3.3 is supposed to support this so I'm waiting for 3.3 to come out and we'll see what happens.
