I realize information about this has been posted but I can't quite piece together the bits an pieces.

My question is I have a Partner R7 with 12 extension and have connected it to a PC via Hyperterminal. What features do I need to set to have it log the incomming calls?

Thanks

If you're just using Hyperterminal connected through the SMDR port, all you can do is click on Transfer/Capture Text and save the output as a text file. Then at some point, close it out, launch Excel, and open it there. Import it as fixed width, define where the columns start and end, then you will be able to add headings and sort the records.

Thanks for the reply.
I realize my question wasn't very clear. I have the system logging to hyperterminal for now and am exploring other capture tools.
What I am looking to ensure is that the proper features are "turned on" in the Partner system to capture and log call information particularly Caller ID.
I have seen a few entries so far that recorded as "In".
I also want to ensure that I capture that info for every extension. In reading the documentation on Caller ID I wasn't totally clear if I had to set logging for//at every extension to make sure it shows on the SMDR log.

Thanks for the help.

The features that you see in the manual for Caller ID Logging pertain to viewing it on a display set. You turn CID Logging ON for an extension, and associate the lines for the extension. ONE extension call view ALL the calls, even if it is not the extension that answered the call.

Add a Call Logs button to a display set, and when it is toggled on, the 4 buttons without lights right below the LCD display become soft keys for scrolling through the call log, deleting, calling back, etc.

So for the SMDR log, there is nothing that you need to do to get everything sent to it.
