caller id issue.

I have a system that I have been working on that has a weird issue. If a call comes in and the caller Id has been blocked by the caller it displays the name of a user on the system while the phone is ringing. Once the call is picked up the name disappears and it says " unknown caller". It should display the trunk group name but it does not. I went so far as to completely remove the user off the system and it still showes the name when a caller id is blocked. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this. I should add that this is a shortel 6.1 system.

Well thats an idea but I would like to see if there is something else I may be missing before we go that route. I aslo should clarify that the issue is not that it displays unknown caller, but that it shows a users name while the call is ringing.

You might want to check to see if the User showing up in the display is transferring the call. It sounds like they are doing a consultive transfer and hanging up.

Thanks but I have checked on this and the user whose name appears does not even have a direct line. They also said that she receives very few calls and they have to be transfered to her. Also I can duplicate the issue if I block my number and call the main number. Still perplexed on this one.
