I am looking for the feature that will show the Caller ID number before I pick up. As of now, the number will only appear after I pick the phone up. Any help would be great, Thanks! -DK
You need to have the set ring and not just have lines appear, when call comes in press Feature 811.
To program a key for this press F*3 then press key that you want programmed then press F811.
I lately used our fastrad to configure our CICS and could, under each set, enable caller ID for all lines.... so any phone that rings will show the calling number while ringing. No need to press anything.
But I don't know if it's applicable to all software versions... and if it can be programmed w/o fastrad.
Yes, the CICS will show the information for lines that are assigned as APPEAR AND RING once you set them up. It works for all releases so far, and no, you don't need the RAD to set them up. If the line is APPEAR ONLY, you need the F811.
If you are using a CICS and (like stated above) the lines appear and ring, then you can go to Terminals & Sets ->Telco Features->Feature Assign->line ->Call ID Set. and set it to yes. Mics dosent have this available until Rel 6.0.

Jerry,
MICS Rls 6.0 will do that? I didn't see that on the "what's new with Norstar". Someone else posted that feature would be comming up in Rls 6.1. ??
ARR,
I just looked in the book again and the programming is there in the book but I cannot remember if I have set up a MICS 6.0 customer that needed it. (look at pg 330 in the IG).

All true....was very peeving that the bloody CICS would have that option but not the MICS.
For me that and the distinctive ring per line was the big selling point
