My customer has a Partner ACS R7, No caller ID on lines 3 and 4, just started a few days ago on two of their 4 lines. I moved/swapped the line to different ports, the numbers that had displayed caller ID still did an the ones that didn't still didn't. First guess Provider has stopped sending Caller ID. I conneced a Caller ID single line phone to the line cords that plugs into the Partner, ALL lines displayed caller ID. When I was done testing 3 of the 4 lines now have no caller ID and one still does. Second test , my spare ACS R7 power up default plug the lines into it, phone connected to ext. 10. same three lines no caller ID one does. Move one of the lines that does not display caller ID to all 5 ports, no caller ID. Move the line that does display caller ID to different ports always displayed caller ID. Removed bridge clips on 66 block to isolate line that does not show caller ID, Punched new cord down on Provider side of 66 block, plugged into system, no caller ID. Provider says everything is good on their end. Any Ideas

Is the provider the local telco, or a CLEC? Is it coming off a channel bank, or regular copper loop start lines?

You've proven that it's not the ACS, by rolling the lines and observing the results.

Prepare to fight with the phone company.

Tell your telco provider you would like a vendor meet to show you the caller ID is working correctly.

These are copper loop start lines plugged into the 5x9 processor,
Local Telco.

Have a vendor meet this afternoon should be interesting.

Any thoughts of what on either side would keep the partner from showing caller when the "good line" will show call ID when plugged into any of the 5 line ports, And the "Bad" line shows no caller ID when plugged into any of the 5 line ports. But all lines produce Call ID when plugged direct into a cheap call ID phone. By the way the results were the same when I used a different processor.

A couple of years back I had issues with no caller ID on my home phone line. When I finaly got someone at Verizon to take my word that I was a key systems/pbx tech for over 20 years and I had tried multiple ID boxes with the same result, they finally sent out a tech. He was certain upon arrival that it was NOT their problem, especially when I told him I could here the "spill" with my buttset. Thats what Verizon calls the burst of ID data, however once we went down to my D-marc in the basement and he connected his test equipment, It showed "data error". He then agreed it was their problem and found a bad card on the remote switch that served my line. After weeks of frustration, it was finaly fixed that same day!

Had same issue, provider had defective or older card in remote for line that Partner wouldn't show CID. Cheap CID device worked OK. Partner must require better data signal to catch CID info. Changing card in remote solved problem.

43 years in the business and counting.

I am having the same problem on two different R7 ACS. I have a Quick Edition and 2 cordless phones that show caller ID. Thought maybe I was trying too much, so unplugged everything but the ACS on the line I am using and still no Caller ID. I thing the carrier is going to have difficulty saying it is them. Any ideas?

So Caller ID isn't displaying on system telephones, but it does show when you connect standard telephones to the LEC's demarc?

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
