Our office has recently installed a BCM 400 3.7 with T7316e phone sets. When an outside call comes in, the caller ID only displays on one line of the LCD display, even though it is a two-line LCD. I would like to display BOTH the CLID number and name at the same time, but I'm told it can only display one line.

Under Telco Features, I can choose weather to show name or number one that one line. Sure seems strange that a two-line LCD couldn't display both lines of info. Can that be done?

Thanks,
Jim

Even though the 7316 has a 2 line display, CID is allowed to only show on 1 line. The other line is always used for system info. When the CID info shows up on the display, you can press MORE above one of the soft keys for the rest of the CID information.
There is 3rd party software that interacts with the system that with display all the CID info. Pizza Hut is an example that comes to mind that uses this setup.
Of course you could always throw an analog line out near your desk and place a CID box.

you could always buy a Lan cte client and use the free application on the BCM called personal call manager it will display the number, name and contact details etc. The other thing is you are not limited to 255 entries you can put in as many details as your pc will hold.

Damn...I didn't even think of personal call manager. Thanks MR Marshall

Thanks for the posts. I guess I'm just surprised at that design. Actually, when ringing, you only get one line and there is nothing on the second -- no soft key for "more" so you actually can't see the second line of CID info until after you've already answered the call. Oh well.
