I would like to develop a program for my client that identifies the telephone number of a caller using caller ID. Then this information can be used to retrieve their records from a database so that they can deal with the callers problem swiftly.
Ideally this will happen before the phone is answered.
If this is possible; what hardware would be needed, could it be done using a fax modem?
My client's organisation is not a large company so a software package would not be feasible.
