Caller ID incorrectly displayed using base system with phone co supplied data display is seems to be one line...name only or tel no only. Can it display two lines both name and number?

Call log displays number in the form of XXX-YYYY (ZZZ) This makes it impossible to call back without writing down and re keying in the number.

They are not 2 lines displays.
Show Name or Number first in programming.
You can do F811 to VIEW more INFO

Ask you carrier why they send the area code at the end instead of at the start like most.

Carrier (Verizon) sends data correctly...call info displayed during call is in correct format (when number display versus name is selected)...area code first. Somehow it gets transposed in the call log section.

That is because the system is made for 7 digit dialing. You can add the area code in the log using the trim prompt to dial out of the log.

all true, but very cumbersome as compared to "staples" type of two line phones, with phone book, answering, and all of the key features . Also, numbers cannot be saved to a phone book or speed dial without re-entering...nor can you scroll thru speed dial to locate a number or name...

New user and very disappointed with the features

Why cant I find the last number redial on my rotary phone? its a bloody cumbersome I tell ya!
Why cant I find last channel on my black and white TV? what? what remote? I need a remote for that?

A new user on an old discontinued system that is very disappointed that it is not as good as the stuff they make these days.

This is a BRAND NEW installation sold to me by a supposed Nortel installer...was never told that this was a discontinued system.

If you're a Norstar Installer you would know the A) This was discontinued almost 10 years ago and B) Nortel no longer even exists.
