A phone set with caller ID will have an appearance of another DN that the customer does not want incoming caller ID to display. This appearance will not have a TN assigned.

Is it possible to not display incoming caller ID on an appearance with no TN? Or will I need to assign a phantom TN.

Also, what are the features to deny incoming caller ID on a station?

You may have to create the DN on an analog TN (not Phantom) then cross connect that analog TN to a trunk port, then assign the trunk TN to a PVR route with a PVR appearance on the digital TN.

That is one way to block the caller ID from ever appearing to your user.

Caller ID is based on the whole set, not a particular extension on that set.
You might be able to set up a phantom TN with a transfer to another number, denying caller ID on the Phantom, but I think you may still see it on the phone you are forwarding to, as you have not deleted that information, just the appearance of it on the phantom. Try it and see.
CLS = CNDD should block caller ID

Ok, I understand about the phantom. I was afraid it was gonna be something like that. The following is the CLS that is assigned to the station now. I set CNDD and am still getting caller ID.

CLS CTD FBD WTA LPR MTD FNA HTA TDD HFA GRLD CRPD STSD
MWA LMPN RMMD SMWD AAD IMD XHD IRA NID OLA VCE DRG1
POD DSX VMD SLKD CCSD SWD LNA CNDD
CFTD SFD MRD DDV CNID CDCA MSID DAPA BFED RCBD
ICDD CDMD LLCN MCTD CLBD AUTU
GPUD DPUD DNDD CFXA ARHA CLTD ASCD
CPFA CPTA ABDD CFHD FICD NAID BUZZ AGRD MOAD
AHA DDGA NAMA
DRDD EXR0
USMD USRD ULAD RTDD RBDD RBHD PGND FLXD FTTC DNDY DNO3 MCBN
CDMR PRED MCDD T87D PKCH

CNDD and DNDD just blocks the Name. If you really just want to block the CLID from showing the called party on one DN, you'll need to make it a PVR.

Otherwise, just set CLS NDD and the whole display will go dark.

GHTROUT, let's say I go the PVR route. My trunks are PRI. Can you provide the steps to cross connect the analog TN to a trunk port and the trunk TN to a PVR route?

Print all RDBs in LD21. Find out if you have any Routes that are PRIV=YES. You only need one per system. If yes, make a note of it. If not, LD16 to make a new one - use Route 31 and set PRIV=YES.

Find one unused DN. We will call it the PVR DN.

LD14 Build a trunk TN on an analog trunk card. Loop start, Route 31, or the PRIV Route from above. Set the PRDN as the DN above.

LD11 Add that DN to the phone as KEY x PVR xxxx

LD10 Build an analog 500 TN with the special DN you do not want users to see Caller ID on.

Cross connect that analog TN to the trunk TN you made in the PRIV route.

Now call the special DN, it will ring the analog 500 TN which is connected to the trunk, which points to the PVR DN on the phone.
