Is there a system wide volume control for the IP Office 500 systems? We're having a lot of people complain about the low volume on their phones. Phones are Avaya 4412D+ (digital phones). We're running firmware 5.0.18.

No there isn't, perhaps it's because they are using the worlds oldest handsets :) Seriously though other than the handsets own volume controls there isn't anything else to change. I have never heard of this issue with any software level with more modern Digital sets though, perhaps it's ther lines at fault :)

also is the question, incoming or outgoing, if incoming local or long distance or toll free calls. All these different things can have an influence on the way calls are routed to the system and also the provider can maybe have issues on the way

How many 4412 do you have connected to the expansion module?
If im not mistaken, you only allowed 20 on a 30 module.

OK, for a 30V1 it 16 and for a 30V2 it's 27 supported handsets.

Is the IP Office using Alog lines? I've had a few systems that are quiet on these sort of lines - if so change the gain on the lines (or ask the network provider to do this for you.)

Here are my answers below:

Call volume seems to be low for incoming and outgoing calls, but I notice it much more if I call a support line (like Symantec), where the other person has a headset.

We have two 30V2 modules, one has (29) 4412D's and a reception phone with an expansion unit. The other module has (29) 4412D's.

We're using SIP. We only have a couple of analog lines and those are all fax machines.

Should I look into buying another digital module? Do they sell these in 8 port versions?

You need an extra module.
You are pulling too much power with that amount of phones on a DS 30 module.

Buy a DS16 and level out the amount of phones per module.
