I assume you mean 'second call' or KNOVR (Knocking/OverRide)
Assign a button KNOVR to the phone
Turn it on to get 'second call'
Turn if off - caller will get busy or diverted to voicemail or other destination depending on forwarding on busy.
regarding KNOVAR its Ok but not the same feature because if i have a call on my extension and there is a second call from outside after hear the automatic attendant and press my extension it will have a bust tone but if i activate the automatic call waiting (Not with Key or Code) the another call withh have ring not busy tone.
for KNOVAR its working by code wehich defined by Wabe but how who will make a call from external know this code s we need to activate the automatic Call Waiting to permit for the second call hear a ringing .
The outside caller does not need to know anything about codes or second call.
You add two buttons in TAPRO called KNOVR and SPLT
The user turns on second call facility by pressing KNOVR
When a second call comes in they are alerted to this and can 'toggle' between callers by pressing the SPLT which can be labelled on the phone as 'toggle'
So you need to change TAPRO
KNOVR
SPLT
Add the 2 in as above
Put codes in WABE for SPLIT and KNOVR
In FEASU:
CHA-FEASU:A,RKNOVR&SPLIT;
The codes in WABE just allow the feature to happen, the code can be anything.
Hi
The caller does not have to press anything.
It is the phone user that can turn on/off KNOVR by pressing the button.
If the button is lit up then they can accept a second call if that arrives.
If the button is not lit up then the calling party will get busy or get diverted to where the phone is diverted to on busy.
Analogue phones can use KNOVR but it gets tricky, they have to press 'R'/Recall/Timed Break Recall and then the code for SPLT
However I would not recommend that analogue users would use 2nd call as it would be too complex without the keys.
There is a feature in V7 which I don't know if it is in V6 because I skipped over V6....
On the Basic 3 tab on the left side there is a checkbox for a function called "Delayed CFW on Busy". What that does is if your phone is set to forward somewhere like voicemail on busy, you are having a conversation, and another call comes in, your phone will give a splash tone and display who is calling on the display. You will have 3 or 4 rings worth of time to hit Connect and grab the call, or use the menu to get the call. I find this very convenient for when I have been waiting all day for a return call and someone just calls to waste my time - I can see the call I have been waiting for pop up and grab the call before I lose it to voicemail or something.
This is a different thing than callback because the caller doesn't have to do anything - they just hear ringing.
NOTE: THIS FEATURE BREAKS HUNT GROUPS!!! Do not enable it on any phones that are in hunt groups or they will not hunt!
thats mean if i define for one line an extension number 1000, after thar i define new float numbers as 1001, 1002, 1003,..
if have acall for 1000 when dial 1001 whats the result busy or ringing
really complete H4K Basic course for V6 but don;t take this features,
still waiting your openion regarding how to implement Automatic call waiting on analog phone,
regarding the phones with key its OK as you describe before,
If an end user needs to have second call give them a display phone. (That would be my solution )
Or you could setup a hunt & pickup groups and or parallel ringing to other phones nearby.
Yes the KCSU will work to float numbers.
You can get multiple calls then from different numbers.
The training is more along the lines of system maintenance, I guess you might have missed out
on the earlier training so and being introduced to HiPath at V6 is not an easy task!
Here is a PDF document on Key System setup and working.
Hope it helps.
