I have an R6 system that is getting call waiting notification on the trunks. I've told the customer and the telco to remove it and give us hunting. They can't/won't or can't figure it out. Can the Partner ACS disable telco call waiting?

This service is SIP trunks via a cable modem internet connection.

There might be a code to disable the Call Waiting, but the provider would have to tell you what it is.

Just wondering....is the customer paying an additional charge for the service, did the customer request it when ordering service with the provider....and....is the provider an RBOC or a CLEC [ponder]

customer had a t1 with a channel bank. that is gone. new service is a cable tv cable modem and then a SIP gateway from a big CLEC. New service. They never had a problem on the old T1 but this new service is funny/flaky. customer wants standard hunting which seems to be a problem for the clec.

So I am fairly sure it's the telephone company but I was curious if there was a way to handle it from the Partner system side, which I highly doubt. I've installed maybe 70-80 partner systems but you never know what is possible, so I thought I would ask.

Nope, the Partner ACS is a fairly simple telephone system. It almost seems like the cable TV provider optioned the modem as if was for a residential customer or someone who works from their home. Hunt lines are the way to go for commercial applications as opposed to Call Waiting.

One final option might be to see if Google can shed some light. Maybe someone else figured out what the code is (assuming one exists) and posted it online. [smile]

Yes there is a code *70 that will temporarily disable call waiting.
Thank you for that tip!

Believe it or not, this is a cable modem line purchased by the clec and resold to the customer with the sip gateway. So instead of leasing a T1 from Verizon the clec leases a cable modem from cablevision and puts their sip gateway on it. first I've seen of it. Customer has no relation with the cable company.
