Call waiting and caller ID

I had a customer ask me if they can get CO caller ID with the call waiting beep. Then they can look to see who it is B4 doing the flash to get the second call. I can't see this being available while on a call but not 100% sure. Has anyone heard of this?

its a telco feature may not be availible in your exchange

we had it on our home line it is really annoying but it does allow you to see how is calling and decide weather or not to take it .

call waiting is extremly unproffesinal in a business situation in my opion tell him to get another line

So how does it work? Do you hear the "beep" and then some kind of modem burst?

you need a phone or caller id box that is compatible

then it beeps you like regular call waiting and the info is displyed at that point you can continue with your conversation or take the new call
