Customer site is in CA. I am remotely supporting the system. The customer is reporting volume issues on calls, both in and out bound calls. It is not consistent. 1 out of 3. The site is a Magix R4.0 V7.0. They are using a T1 for outbound and a pool of 5 pots for inbound BTN. I have actually heard the problem on pots line 802. Besides having someone swap the lines to different ports for testing, is there something else I should be looking at? I am going to have them start generating calls out, to me, on the T1 to try to actually hear it happen on that circuit.

It could possibly be a handset issue. There are some really poorly made Magix and Merlin replacement handsets out in the market - and I have run across more than few bad ones myself. But - that would be an issue only if all calls were low volume (in/out) on that particular phone vs. the more spradic issue you seem to be describing.

I would have them keep track of the LINE they are on when they have the problem.

My first thought is this, It could ONLY BE on the INBOUND Pots lines, but as always, rule number 1 applies here.

Keeping track of which line has the problem should point to the bad lines.

In the past, I have had to set up SMDR and have them log the TIME of the problem to narrow these things down.

But with only 5 Posts lines, that shouldn't be necessary.
