Call via Auto Attendant not releasing

Can anyone help please.
Problem with calls through an Auto Attendant.

Embedded Voice Mail
Option 5 in an auto attendant menu is a Transfer only mailbox for customers to dial the extension they require.
If the extension they dial is not answered and the incoming callers hangs up the called extension remains ringing for about 5 rings.
How can I stop this please.

I suspect your trunk type is Analog and you are not receiving disconnect signalling.

If so, nothing to be done.

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.
 
Or could this be a supervised xfer?
Does an xfer only box supervise the call or is it a blind xfer?
I'm thinking I agree with the analog trunk being the cause but not sure.
