Hello,

I work for a restaurant management group that manages several different restaurant concepts. One of the concepts we manage is a pizza restaurant that has several locations within a fairly small area. Therefore restaurants will often get callers wanting delivery/carryout from a location that isn't within that location's delivery area (but is another) or are closer to another location that would be more suitable for them to pickup their carryout order.

Because of this I'm trying to make it easier on the employee's at the restaurants by programming buttons on their 7316E phones that they can use to simply transfer a call to one of the other restaurant locations, rather then them just giving the caller the phone number for the correct location. I figured out how to do this on an ESI system quite easily, but I'm new to working with Nortel phone systems and I'm having a bit of trouble. Using the feature codes I haven't been able to do much more than program external auto dial (which doesn't work, obviously) and programming a key for conference/transfer (which has proven too complicated for the restaurant employees).

Is there any way to program the phones so that an employee can hit transfer followed by another button that will automatically dial to one of the other locations so that the caller is easily put in touch with the correct location?

Thanks

The easiest way to trsnsfer to an external number is to use the Telco feature of three-way-calling.

The process would be
Feature 71 > Number

If that's not possible the Nrstar can transfer to an external number under certain conditions;

1) software must be 4.1 or higher
2) redirect must be enabled on the phone doing the the transfer
3) phones lines must have supervision turned on and be in a line pool.

The process would then be Feature 4 > Line Pool Access code (usually 9) > number.

Keep in mind this process uses 2 phone lines one in one out.
