We have a customer who asked if they were getting billed for calls transferred from one location to another. For example, a call comes in, received by their 3300ICP, the operator transfers the call to another outside location in another city. Once that other location answers and the operator drops off, their concern is that the 3300ICP is still holding that open trunk, or is it dropping the call once the two parties are connected. I thought that once the distant end answers and the call is dropped, the two parties are connected, or is the 3300ICP still managing the call? Thanks. rp

The call is conferenced thru the 3300 and the LD will be billed to the system that initiated the conference.

With rel 7.1 there is an option to release the trunks to the C.O. if the C.O. supports Release Link Trunking but even then the call will be billed to the system that transfered the call.

There is an island of opportunity in the middle of every difficulty.
Miss that though, and you're pretty much doomed!
