I have ran upon an issue. Our people who have 500 sets are doing supervised transfers in order to process the customer without sending them to vmail. They do hookflash- dial the extension- wait- if vmail picks up the want to recall the person and give them the option to be transferred else where. The problem is if they do a hookflash again they are in a conference then. Any ideas how to recall a transferred call???

To cancel an incomplete transfer, Hangup, then lift the handset and flash the switchhook to return to the call

That works on incomplete transfers but this is one voice mail picks up, so it is technically a completed call. The problem is they want to get the call back, and then transfer it to someone else. Once the vmail picks up and it is a "completed call" a hangup releases the call and your out of the loop, and a hook flash conferences you. I hate 500 sets...

With the analog phones we have you use the recall button to transfer.
ie. caller on line, press recall, original caller now on hold, dial extension, if no answer or voicemail, recall gets original caller back, or hanging up completes the transfer.

Dave.

Isn't Recall the same as Flash? If so, thats what I am trying to do but. It works just like you stated except if you hit vmail it does a conference instead of giving the call back. If it is working on your system like derbydave says, please post a tnb printout of your 500 set. Thank you.

Well...here is a klunky solution, but it may fit your needs. I am making the assumption here that you are using Meridian Mail. if not, the command may differ, but the results should be the same.

The 500 set does the hookflash to transfer to another party and voicemail answers. When your 500 set user hears the voicemail, press 83 to disconnect the call. Voicemail will hang up, your 500 set user should be able to hokkflash or hangup and wait for the ring back.

Told you it was klunky.
