Hello Fellow UCx people:

I've looked through the docs, but haven't found this one.

Is it possible to extend the amount of time a user has to complete a Call transfer? The clients at a recent installation would like more time to be able to complete a call transfer, once the Transfer softkey is placed on an 1140E. Right now they only have 5 seconds of the second dial tone to complete the call transfer and they would like more time, at least 20 seconds.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you,

Joe

As far as I know, there is no 5 second limit on the duration of the dial tone (for transfers or normal calls). Once the first digit is dialed, the system by default uses 10 second inter-digit timeout. You can set the timeout using the Auto Dial Timer option on the Nortel Settings page.

In my opinion, if the user is not able to dial at least one digit per 5 seconds, something is wrong with the user and not the UCx system. [wink]

Hi UCxguy,

When you say timeout, are you referring to the time the line times out before a digit is pressed?

I thought I was pretty specific - I used the term "inter-digit timeout" - that is the time between dialing two subsequent digits. I also mentioned that there probably isn't any timeout for the dial tone (before the first digit is pressed) - at least no timeout that could be considered short.
