Hi it is CM release 8.1 with mostly J series sip phones. We are facing call transfer/conference issue. The transfer/Conference feature/button does not work until the called part answer the call, both feature only works if call gets connected with the called party.

Any help??

any help?

There is no such thing as a free LUNCH.

Did you check your settings file?

Code:
## ENABLE_BLIND_TRANSFER indicates whether enable blind transfer or not
## Value Operation
## 0 Disable blind transfer
## 1 Enable blind transfer (default)
## This parameter is supported by:
## J169/J179 SIP R1.5.0; J100 SIP R2.0.0.0 and later (J169/J179 only), J139 SIP R3.0.0.0 and later, J159 SIP R4.0.3.0 and later
## 96x1 SIP R7.1.0.0 and later
## SET ENABLE_BLIND_TRANSFER 0

It is set as below

SET ENABLE_BLIND_TRANSFER 0

what should it be?

Read the documentation. It has a description of this parameter.

“There is no such thing as a free lunch.”

Gwebster lol.....[bigsmile]

I will be thankful if somebody help what value should be set to get a blind transfer work?

The explanation of what setting to use is in the description of the setting that ZeroZeroOne posted.

To be very specific, The behavior of J-series phones changes with this setting. You need to pay attention to the display and the labels on the soft-keys.

Here are descriptions of the existing and proposed phone behavior:

With the 46xxsettings.txt file having SET ENABLE_BLIND_TRANSFER 1, Your phone behavior should be as follows:
[ol]
[li]Answer the incoming call.[/li]
[li]Press Transfer. The current call is put "on hold" and the phone displays "Select a destination. Press Contacts, Recents, use the dialpad or softkey options."[/li]
[li]Enter the number for the destination. You may edit the number. Press Call to indicate the number is correct. The phone displays "Transfer Now or talk with [destination]?"[/li]
[li]Choose Talk to initiate a Warm Transfer or Now for a Cold/Blind Transfer.[/li]
[/ol]
[ul]
[li]If you select Talk then you hear ringing and will have the option to talk with the destination. Press Complete to send the call to their phone.[/li]
[li]If the transfer destination does not answer or does not want to accept the call, press Cancel to speak with the caller.[/li]
[li]If you select Now the call is immediately transferred and begins to ring on the destination phone.[/li]
[/ul]

With the 46xxsettings.txt file having SET ENABLE_BLIND_TRANSFER 0, Your phone behavior should be as follows:
[ol ]
[li]Answer the incoming call.[/li]
[li]Press Transfer. The current call is put "on hold" and the phone displays "Select a destination. Press Contacts, Recents, use the dialpad or softkey options."[/li]
[li]Enter the number for the destination. You may edit the number. Press Call to indicate the number is correct. The phone dials the destination number and the Complete buttons is available. When the destination answers and accepts the call, press Complete to complete the transfer.[/li]
[/ol]

[ul]
[li]You can still do a blind/cold transfer by pressing Complete before the destination answers.[/li]
[/ul]

Please remember that you must reboot your phone to pick up the new settings.

Yes, this is the correct, standard behavior for J-series phones: The Hold, Conference, and Transfer features are all on the Soft-keys located just under the display and only appear when you are on an active call - meaning your phone is connected to another party via an inbound or outbound call.

You cannot transfer a call until you actually have a call in progress. Likewise, you must be on an active call before you can begin a conference call.
