Hi all - BCM400 w/ 1140e phones

This problem has baffled me for a while now. When you are on the phone with someone and another call comes in, our phones are set to forward that second call directly to voicemail. As soon as that happens, the phones emit a tone (more of a do-DOO type sound) to indicate this has happened. Sometimes it is loud, sometimes quiet, either way it is annonying and I have received plenty of requests to disable it. Is that possible? I've never been able to find teh answer.

Their mailbox in CallPilotManager? If so, I don't see a Call ID field.

Mailbox Manager is a Web based application that can be utilised to manage your CallPilot mailbox online.

You access Mailbox Manager by entering the following in the address bar of your web browser:

Then enter the mailbox number
followed by the mailbox password.

You can control Subscriber mailboxes, Information mailboxes, Skillset
mailboxes, General Delivery mailbox, and System Administrator mailbox
through Mailbox Manager. If you try to access other types of mailboxes, you
receive a warning message.
Mailbox Manager can help users manage most of their mailbox functions and
settings and it even allows users to select, change and record greetings over
the network without having to be at their office.
Once users log in to their mailbox on the network, they are presented with
choices for any changes they may wish to make.
The easy-to-use, browser-based interface makes setting up and making
changes to features (like Off Premise Message Notification) simple: users just
point and click on the options they want and type in the information.

The section you are after is

1. Select the Forward Calls To Voicemail check box.
2. Select the Display Caller Information check box, if required. If you forward your telephone to voice mail, you can have the option to display caller information on your screen when the call goes to voice mail. This
allows you to select which calls you want to retrieve with F987.
3. Click Submit.

This should switch off the tone bleep.

I did not know that existed.

I goto the url and am prompted for the username and password. I put them in, just as I type them into the phone when checking my vm, but it then acts like I got it incorrect.

Do I have to enable access to this tool elsewhere? Do I have to format the username like <bcmipaddress>\mymbnumber or mymbnumber@<bcmipaddress>?

user must go into their mailbox:
Login to mailbox
Press ADMIN or 8.
Press GREET or 2.
Press CFWD or 3.
Press press NO or 2 to have calls ring at your set.
Press CHNG or 1 to turn Call Display Y or N.

Thanks curlycord!

That's exactly it. You've made many service reps very happy.

Any ideas of why the mailbox manager isn't accepting passwords? I've tried on a few different mailboxes.

Do it by the phone as curlycord has suggested..its easier.

If you do use mailboxmanger then enter it the same as a mailbox logon except dont use the # at the end,

username:eg 222 ( your mailbox)
pasword: eg 1234 ( your password)

this should take you to the mailbox.

Welcome John
then you can change your mailbox settings and see how many messages are waiting.
