We have a customer that is looking to do Call Routing by area code through the IP Office and VM Pro. When a call comes into the IP Office, they want to route it to certain hunt groups depending on the area code of the caller ID. They have an existing database of area codes they are looking to use.

I setup a new Module in VM Pro called Test with the database actions. I also setup a DID in Incoming Call Route, to go to VM Module Test.

When I call the DID #, I was getting disconnected right away. Now it looks like it is routing through and going to the failure action of the Database Get Data. It looks like I am missing one step.

Has anyone ever done this through VM Pro database actions? I know this can be done in incoming call routes in Manager but the customer has over 1000 area codes and they just want to be able to do a database search.

I have done it with the data base license and area code routing. worked great.

Yes, I have the VM Pro Database Interface license.

Kwing.....how did you get it to work?

i built a database in MS access with one column of the area code and another with the extensions to transfer too. then i had to build the SQL commands. it wasnt easy because i dont know the commands. i had all the modules saved somewhere. post your email in a format that wont get flagged and i will try to find it and send to you.

You could do it in the incoming call route too and then route it to VMPro
