What is needed as a minimum to allow our users to record calls. We need the facility for staff that take credit card details. Seemingly it's a requirement.

Our's is a CS1000 r5.5 with callpilot 600r.

Any thoughts?

You can either record calls from the telephone using devices that form an inline connection with the handset cord, or you can use a product like CallRex that uses port replication on your network.

If you use port replication, you will need to turn off any end to end encryption that may be enabled within the system.

My my. I would have imagined an IP system might have had some built in functionality to do this. Is there nothing like that on the CS1000?

Call Recording is something that only a small percentage of users need.

There are many 3rd party applications from basic solutions to very advanced solutions that are available, and compatible with CS1000 systems.

I have used TELSTRAT's solutions for call recording on TDM and IP. I personally like the way they integrate to the CS1000.

I guess is worth for you to take a look in their webpage.

Nortel/Avaya does offer a "Call Recording & Quality Monitoring" solution.
