Hello all,

Are calls over a Qsig link considered as external from a call recording point of view? And, if so,
is there a way to exclude the Qsig links from being recorded.
The scenario is multiple 500v2's with both ETSI & Qsig links. We want to record the ETSI link calls
Inbound/Outbound but omit the Qsig as they are 'internal' from a user point of view.

Any ideas?

Qsig trunks are considered as internal connections and thus calls traversing the Qsig trunks are internal calls.
Qsig is only supported on PRI trunks and you need a networking license per site.
I would use H.323 VoIP trunks as those are a lot cheaper to buy and implement.
PRI becomes obsolete, SIP trunks are a lot cheaper and almost as reliable as a PRI trunk.

I would use SIP trunks to link them, cheapest way by far, and will be recorded as external if required, you can still pass name and number etc :)

Ideally I would use SIP trunks but its going into an old(ish) Option 61c so Qsig PRI is the only option.

I configured extensions to record external in/out and it is treating calls on the Qsig links as external
and recording them which I do not want.

Cant find anything in the docs that might help so I guess I'm looking for some 'trick' to get what I want.
