Call Pilot Server 5.0.0 - McAfee - Should? Should Not?

All,

Good afternoon. I have a question regarding the Call Pilot Server. We have our security review and we were flagged with McAfee not being up to date on our one
Call Pilot Server. I checked the other Call Pilot Servers we have at our other locations but none of them have McAfee on them. Does McAfee need to be on the Call Pilot Server? If so, why?

I am not certain as to why only 1 of our Call Pilot Servers has McAfee on the system or who installed it.

Ours in on our WAN only and is protected by our own firewalls and software the network side of the house takes care of. So, I wonder how you are set up? If you have vulnerability to an outside network, you may need to have a good virus sofware on each one. You should be able to set up automatic updates with McAfee as long as the liceses are paid and up to date for each server. You may need to check with whoever pays the bills there for that stuff and see what they have for licenses......

If you are using the CLAN connection then yes, it should have some type of antivirus. If you are only using the ELAN connection on a stand alone hub or switch then no. Bad thing about Call Pilot is all support for Server 2003 ends next year. Good luck

I am in need of a Call Pilot 6.0 if anybody happens to pull one out of service! There is no backup to this one and it has a heck of a time coming back up after a power loss/re-boot. I am a bit nervous about that.....let me know if you have one you don't need. I'll figure out soem kind of trade if need be....
