call pilot query re dial tone

Hi
Can anyhone help - i am setting up call ilot and testing with analogue 500 sets.
However when a message is left on an extension you can no longer hear dial tone when you lift the receiver? Phone still works fine though.

When there is no voicemail messages on phone user can hear dial tone when receiver is lifted.

Quite strange..do i need to chg settings for the 500 phones for tones/cadences or something?

I guess your analog sets do not have lights on them? If not, verify CLS of the set is MWA and LPD. What type of analog line card are you using? NT8D09?
