I have setup a few call pilots in the past but am having trouble with this one. All mailboxes have been initialized but when the operator/receptionist transfers calls to the desired extension, it goes over four rings (mailbox usually kicks in after 4 rings) and keeps ringing without the mailbox cutting in at all.I am sure there is something simple i am missing, thanks in advance.

Have you set the CF No Answer on the set under capabilities to the VM DN

Crowtalks. I have never had to do this, but then again, on all the other call pilots i have set up, i also was using CCR trees to point external callers to extensions with mailboxes (if assigned one obviously). Does using a ccr tree differ from not using one when it comes to callers getting through to mailboxes? This is the only reasoning i have come up with thus far.

Silver987, please clarify what you are getting at, thanks again.

If you use AA to answer calls then the transfer callback timer will forward the call to vmail. If you have live answer the call forward no answer under capabilities must be set for the caller to get forwarded to a mailbox.

As phoneguy said, if a call going to an extension needs to go to voice mail, you need to tell the set to forward to the voicemail DN. Feature 985 tells what system DN the voicemail is attached to and this is the DN you would set the CFNA to. After you assign CFNA then it asks you for the # of rings to set.

Thanks a lot. That actually rings a bell now that you guys mention it, bad memory on my part. Thanks again.
