I have installed a call pilot 150 on a norstar mics. The customer has 4 lines that app&ring on 6 phones. They want 2 mailboxes. They want lines 1&2 to ring no answer to mailbox 222 and lines 3&4 to ring no answer to mailbox 224. The only way I was able to make that work is to have lines 1&2 app&ring on ext. 222 and lines 3&4 app&ring on ext. 224. That won’t work because they want all lines to app&ring on both phones. With this line assignment all calls go to mailbox 222. Is there a solution to my dilemma? Thanks.

Ideally using AA would be nicer to utilize the Table and/or CCR
Lines 1 & 2 answered by Table 1/Greeting 1/CCR Tree 1 = "You have reached ABC, please press 1 for Mailing address, 2 for hours of operation or 3 to leave a message - Path 3 is Leave Msg to mailbox 224
Lines 3 & 4 answered by Table 2/Greeting 2/CCR Tree 2(or 1 if same hours etc) = "You have reached XYZ, please press 1 for Mailing address, 2 for hours of operation or 3 to leave a message - Path 3 is Leave Msg to mailbox 224

You could play with Hunt Groups too maybe.
HG 01 (DN 611) = Lines 1 & 2 Assigned, Members are 22 and 224, overflow is Callpilots DN
HG 02 (DN 612) = Lines 3 & 4 Assigned, Members are 22 and 224, overflow is Callpilots DN

Create mailboxes 611 and 612 to replace mailboxes 222 and 224

Answer DN method:
Program unused ports to have the lines ring, 2 lines each DN, Forward them to vmails DN after 3 or 4 rings

Then assigned both Answer DN keys at 222 and 224

Sorry about the double post. I will delete the norstar post and keep this thread live. Thanks curlycord.

The customer has downsized and the don't want to use the AA. I have used answer dn in the past to solve a lot of issues. I just want to make sure I have the programming correct. I would program say ext 242 with lines 1&2 to app&ring, fwd no answer to cp dn. Program ext 243 with lines 3&4 to app&ring, fwd no answer to cp dn. Then assign answer dn 242 to app&ring on ext 222. Then assign answer dn 243 to app&ring on 224. This is using the sw on unused ports as a sort of an integration?

Thanks dude...easier for all to keep track of with the little time we have.

"To use Answer DN's" but probably in a better manner then my last suggestion above.
I think he indicated to plug in spare set but I do not think you need them at all.

Example...

Lets say X250 and 251 are free ports on the MICS

X250 has lines 1 & 2 assigned as A&R
X251 has lines 3 & 4 assigned as A&R
Both 250 and 251 are FNA to CP's DN

X222 and X224 both have an Answer DN keys for both 250 & 251

You delete mailboxes 222 and 224 and create mailboxes 250 and 251
MB 250 has Alternate DN as 222
MB 251 has Alternate DN as 224

Alternate DN is for the Message Notification.

I think I am going to try the answer DN scenario. I just want to make sure I have something clear. Do I assign both answer DN keys on each phone exts 222,224? How does the user log into their new mailboxes 250,251? I am using an auto dial key with F981 for easy mailbox login.

Programming Alternate DN under Mailboxes
No matter how many you add (5 limit) those phones will have equal ownership of that mailbox no matter what the DN setting is.

Example:
Mailbox 260
Ext: 260
Alt DN #1 - 222

So both 260 and 222 share ownership.
So when 222 does F981 then enter the password for MB 260

" Do I assign both answer DN keys on each phone exts 222,224? "
Yes because both are playing reception for both companies (lines).
That would have been my answer yesterday but today it is:
No, just make sure lines are programmed to ring accordingly since Auto Attendant is not in play here

X222 has lines 1 to 4 assigned as A&R
X224 has lines 1 to 4 assigned as A&R
Both 222 and 224 are FNA to NONE

X250 has lines 1 & 2 assigned as A&R
X251 has lines 3 & 4 assigned as A&R
Both 250 and 251 are FNA to CP's DN

You delete mailboxes 222 and 224 and create mailboxes 250 and 251
MB 250 has Alternate DN as 222
MB 251 has Alternate DN as 224

So what happens is
-when you call line 1 or 2 it rings 222, 224 and 250, MB 250 eventually answers....it then sends message indicator to 222
-when you call line 3 or 4 it rings 222, 224 and 251, MB 251 eventually answers....it then sends message indicator to 224

Thanks once again curlycord. I think you have answered my questions. I will try to go live with scenario next week. Wish me luck.

I just wanted to update those who might be interested. I was able make this work by using spare sets connected to unused ports. Below is the programming flow.

Delete mailboxes 222 and 224 and create new mailboxes 250 and 251
MB 250 has Ext 250 Alternate DN #1 is 222
MB 251 has Ext 251 Alternate DN #1 is 224

Had the customer set up the new mailboxes (250,251) with the different greetings.

Connected M7310 sets to ports 130 and 131. Made test calls on all 4 lines. Lines 1&2 FNA to mailbox 250. Lines 3&4 FNA to mailbox 251.

Thanks again to all that had an input to help me with issue.
