Hello, does any body know if id possible to built a mailbox that when you dial in give you fax tone.
I'm trying to replace a Fax Server service with Call Pilot, the mailboxes work fine send and receive Faxes, but I want to see if the mailbox can give the fax tone because some people doesn't start sending the Fax until they hear the tone.

Do you have a multimedia CDN defined in your SDN table? If you do, be sure that you have a phantom 500 port built with the DCFW going to the multimedia CDN. Once that is set up, you should be able to dial the number of the phantom and hear a fax tone answer the call.

Hello Everyone,

I am also trying to set up a fax mailbox. I have created a phantom, and have tried to set up the SDN, but don't know how to set it up. Can someone please explain stepwise what I need to do to get this working? Thanks in advance,

Jon Kyle

You need to be licensed for faxing.

If you are, you need to build a multimedia CDN (different than voice messaging CDN) in the PBX and then rerun the Config Wizard in Call Pilot to include this.

Then you build a phantom that is DCFW'd to the multimedia CDN. Build mailbox with faxing capability.

The fax srvice is working now my problem was I had the new CDN configured as voice messaging instead of Multimedia, change it and work fine.

Thanks for the help.
