Hi All.

I was called by a user saying that when someone called her line, they got the "canned" voicemail prompt in French.

I checked and the user's mailbox is set for English.

Why would this happen, how can I see where it is set, and how do I fix it?

Regards

What happens when you call it? Same thing :) If it persists, just remove and rebuild the mailbox is what I would do.

Hi there.

Yes I rebuilt the mailbox and the same thing occurred.

We use French, because we are in Canada... both official languages, don't you know...

The user recorded themself a greeting and it is ok... I just don't know why the French prompts would be used, when the mailbox itself says "English"

Regards

Check the mailbox Class.
In there you can specify what language callers hear, can be the System Primary language, Secondary Language or the User's Preferred Language.

The language set in the mailbox itself is the language the user will hear prompts when logged in. But if the mailbox Class is set to "User's Preferred Lanaguage" then callers will also hear system greetings in that language - unless the user records their own greeting.

Do what Stanley says that's probably your issue.......

It's a phone system, NOT a clock!
