In Call Pilot go to:
Messaging>Security Administration
and from there you can change most of the global options. IF you get stuck on a specifc field, the help button usually has pretty good info (but not always, I've found - so you can always ask here and someone will know)
The default reset password for mailboxes is simply 12 plus the mailbox number. You also have the option of changing the user's password to anything but I find that resetting keeps me from having to remember stuff.
on mermail it is the ext, then makes the user chg it upon initial log in. Resetting a mailbox does not chg the pwd on CP, just re-enables the mailbox if disabled.
Ok, one more question. I set up remote notification and I want to figure out which dn the switch is using to call out so I can change the CLID info on that number. Right now when it calls my cell phone it shows as unavailable.
Thanks again!
we use the nxx of the switch and the cp adds the ext and forces a change.. best bet if you just need to reset one, once a week of so is the change the pwd instead of reset.. the cp will still force a change
Am I missing another important point? (I do that a lot)
If I look at my mailbox in Call Pilot (v4) in the security section I have a dropdown box to choose enabled or disabled and two buttons: 1 reset password and 1 change password. I could swear my vendor told me reset put password at default and change put it at whatever yo change it to...
this is my security section. When I hit reset password, it goes to 12<my vmb#> and it forces me to change that at next login.
And now I gotta remember a new pw! Thanks a lot bigindian! (Because it also won't let me use my extension or an old password)(Of course, I reckon I could change that too - I am the admin. What good is it being the admin if I can't flaunt the security rules?)
tgml code is a little bit different than standard forum bbcode but there is a big list of them at the bottom of the post entry window - click on that "Process TGML" link down there.
the weird part is there's no "=" in it and you don't have to close it with a /img tag...but I did have to embed that in a code block to show code - if that worked...
Oh, and it has to already be on the web somewhere - I use free imageshack.us host for this but they tend to disable high traffic pics ...and they prefer you use the thumbnails instead of direct linking to the pic but I like direct linking usually because I often don't want to make the reader click a link to see the whole thing at full size.
