I have a call pilot that is set up for Auto Attn. The ext. I use for testing is off a Meridian Switch. When I dial the ext. it will ring and then answer, then I get dead air. I have the greetings recorded. I am not sure where to go from here. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

From the info you posted, I have one crucial question. You mention that your KSU is a Meridian. What kind. A modular ics, 8X24, or a 616. Call pilot voice mail is only compatible with software versions 4.1 and higher. If you have a 8X24 or 616 then your callpilot is not compatible. If you have a MICS you need to have a software of 4.1 or higher. If you have one of the older softwares, you need either a startalk or nam voicemail. The reason you may be hearing dead air is because of a compatibility issue. You should post the model and software of your ksu for us to be sure.

Also AA greetings are for incomming calls only. Auto attendant answers inward calls and directs them. If your calling ext to ext you should hear the greeting from the personal mailbox of the extension that did not answer the call.

Hope that helps.

I should of been a little clearer. I have Cics I believe rls. 5. The greetings and call pilot work fine. The Meridian I was referring the analog line off the Meridian Switch.

Do you have the AA of the CICS (not the callpilot) turned on?
if you are using the CP then the AA must be OFF

I am not sure how to turn the auto attn. off I looked at the target line changed that to not auto. Still did not work. I looked a little closer and it is a MICS DR 5.0 CP IS RLS 2.0. This is a test switch I put in so I can start getting familiar with the Norstar and Call Pilot. Any more suggestions would help. I may try connecting a 1MB to the norstart to see if that makes a difference. Thanks for your posts

the MICS doesnt have a AA ... so dont worry abt that.

could be a bad line, bad ls/ds port ...
can you try a different line, a different port on the LS/DS card?

Senk1s thank you for your replies. I moved it to port two, popped right up. Thanks for your help. I will have to look into why the first port is not answering.
