I have been trying for some time to set up a CCR tree. I have the following to set up-
a custom greeting, press 1 to xfer to ext 223, press 2 to leave message for mbx 224, and 3-4-5-6 are also messages to individual mailboxes 225,226,227,228.

I have succeeded only in recording the "primary recording" for the Home Node, which includes the greeting and to press 1 to transfer to ext 223. It does not transfer (mailboxes are not initialized, but even after initializing-same thing), nor does the recording continue for press 2,3...

I have done this in several steps. recording a greeting 1,and making a table 1.

Making the CCR tree 1, I made a Home Node, which only accepts one recording, and I can add no more paths or recording. I then added steps 2-6 with paths 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, etca menu node, using mailbox and transfer options. Table 1 then accepted the tree 1.

Deleting these was even harder than building them! What is the correct way to build a CCR tree? where should I draw the line with ther Home node?

Arrghh!

pay your vendor...but first hear me out..the programming of a tree is not real hard but if you dont do it all the time its a pain in the ass..pay someone who knows and have them walk you thru it ...its 100$ well spent...now this only works if your vendor is good...i tell my customers to have all ccr tree options written out and a person ready to record and i guarantee i wiil be onsite for no more than an hour...dont care how big a tree...as long as the do there home work its really a piece of cake...

unfortunately, I'm the vendor, so i've got to figure this out. My tech and I are not new to menu trees, but are new to this system. The tree is being configured and added to the table, but the confusion is how to configure the paths on the tree. That's why I'm on tek-tips. It's a great place to share knowledge.
It's just the first step where I'm losing it.The rest all works.

To be more specific. it's where to stop the primary recording for the home node. to put in single digit paths, I am using-Home Node; Menu Node; Mailbox node. But the recordings for the menu node aren't playing.

I have a question for you. In all seriousness: Why did you accept a project where you have no idea what you are doing. I mean if a customer calls me, and says will you install my NEC system for me, I say no- because I don’t know a thing about it. Is it because this forum is here and you figured you could just get the answers for free? The customer is paying you for your supposed expertise, not to come to tek tips and ask the type of questions you have been asking over the last few days.

Do yourself and your customer a huge favor… Call a professional and have him work as a subcontractor to install the system. What you are doing is completely unprofessional, and in my opinion, unethical.

Excuse me. I can'e predict what a customer might want. I've been doing this for 25 years, been to many Nortel schools, but you are always going to run into some caveat that's new to you. So, I wouldn't say I am unethical. Not with my experience, and low voltage contractor's license.
My tech and I have programmed the entite MICS system and the entire Call Pilot. The menu is also built, with this one snag.

BTW, I did hire a Norstar expert, a week ago, who was "too busy" to come out to the job yesterday, and wanted to talk us through the programming over the phone, instead. Now I know who not to depend on.
And- yes, I do turn down systems I don't know-like Toshiba and NEC.

I think you should know something about the system you are installing, in this case the Call Pilot.
The Norstar Expert you said was too busy to come out, would have been able to walk you through the programming. I have done that many times, and your problem is not difficult at all, and would have been taken care of no matter if you are new to Nortel or not. Most tech's can follow directions. I think the reason the previous comments are brought up is because all your post's are probably centered on this particular install, and the feeling is that of one who is trying to program with out reading the manual, or understanding it, though I could be wrong. This has been a hot topic in past post's, about giving away free support on installs, and we don't really know if the person is who they say they are.
Anyone?
