CALL PILOT BACKUPS

Saturday I had to do a callpilot restore to a new callpilot hard drive from what was supposed to be a Friday Backup, but turned out the data was from September 20th. However the backup said 100% successful. I now have to try to find a company that can recover the date from the previous hard drive.

Any ideas?

look for anyone that has ghost software.. here's a hint, sounds far fetched but it worked here and twice before that. take the old harddrive if it;s dead and move the disk to a new drive.. another hint if the disk just has a bad sector, freeze it, then do a new backup or create an image.. that may work once, the cold shrinks the disk.. nortel had me try that, in that case it didn't help. the trouble was the drive, not the disk.. put the scsi disk on a new drive, did a new backup.. saved 1000's of msgs, and a longer weekend

the other tech on site at the time told me later that he thought i had lost it when i started tearing hd's apart.

Our IT department has the tape now and says they can see 3 seperate drives C: D: E: two of the drives are unformated but one drive they can read data from. Are these other two drives really not being used or are they in another format that only call pilot can read?

They have copied the data they can read to a network drive and sent me the link. I'm going to look at it now to see if I can determine what's what.
