We are trying to create a backup for our Call Pilot voice mail rls 4.0 with Succession 4.0 switch. We are trying to backup to our client pc and it says the "source is unknown" we created a shared file on the local pc which is the client pc. Are there any other tricks to make this happen?

You might try setting up a mapped drive on the call pilot to the folder on the PC where you want to store the file and then create a backup device in call pilot manager that is that mapped drive.

Kind of a left field suggestion, but make sure your call pilot has all the current PEPs for 4.0 so you are not chasing your tail if there is a bugfix for a backup/restore known issue.

The correct procedure to perform a network backup is well documented in the CP 4 I&M documents. The documentation should be on-site, since a CD is provided with every sale. If you don't have the documentation, your vendor should be able to provide it to you.

i like clones, I use DriveXML to clone the drives in CP live without whacking anything, it will save over a network share as well.
