Hi all,

I have a call-center customer who has a Norstar MICS 7.1 and a CP150. They want the supervisors to be able to record their own conversations with clients and then be able to save them for a month.

Any ideas?

Call Pilots do have a built-in record feature which is activated with a F98x code. Very cool feature. The only thing is that you need to have the CP attached to an ethernet network so that you can retrieve the recording files and save them to a hard drive every so often.

You need to set the Class of Service to allow call recording. Also, the person who wants to record needs to have a mailbox assigned to the phone. Calls are then recorded onto the mailbox and can be saved on a computer with Unified Messaging. The feature code to do recording is F989.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

The downside of feature 989 is the built in notification message and notification tones that come across. you cannot kill these and most customers don't want the distractions.
