Can someone please explain to me how the reserved channels work on the CP150. According to the manual A reserved channel is used when:

• a Call Center greeting plays to a caller
• Off-premise Message Notification notifies you that there is a message in a skillset mailbox.

Reserved channels are voice channels that are reserved for use by Call Center. If you reserve channels for Call Center, you ensure that callers are played skillset announcements, and CallPilot does not use all of the voice channels.

The reason I ask is my customer has 12 lines for there call center and there is only an option of 0 through 6 to set for reserved channels. Seems low to me.

If you reserve too many channels then you lessen the amount of people that access call pilot to check voicemail or leave messages. Why do you need to reserve more?

I currently have my reserved channels set to only 4 of 6. I have the call center set up to answer all incoming lines immediately "0" rings. They have a back up voice mail from there LEC in case the system goes down for any reason such as power loss. For some reason they were getting a lot of calls going to there LEC voice mail and not being answered by the call center greeting. Not sure why this was happening but I wanted to be clear on the way the reserved channels worked.
