A client's Call Pilot 150 keeps locking, they need to unplug and re-plug the voice mail 2 to 3 times per week. I changed the power cord last spring, thought it would solve this.
CP Version 31.10.14.22
On 2 occasion it wiped the entire programming.

Anyone have any idea?

dropped by the client today and thought I'd do some basic testing, changes the Power cord, the line cords and cross connect, plugged a T7316E in my last 2 ports and the phone worked fine. Trying to cover my bases before I zero in on looking to change the unit or software. I did notice that my A B line cord were reversed where A was on port 132 of my MICS and B was on port 131, not sure if that would make a difference other than the CP DN changed from 5009 to 5010, did have to change the CFNA to 5010.

Yes Allworxguy, changed the power cord.

I have not checked general mail box this time, why would a full general delivery mailbox crash the system? Had another client with general delivery full and no issue.

Can check the GD mailbox later today

just got back and the GD is fine, there are 2 tenants the GD and the other reception on Table 2 both had about 5 to 10 minutes of a max 30 minutes. I did find in the report that one employee was at 25 minutes with 68 messages saved so I've asked both client to remind staff to keep the number of message down. Unless other crashes I will wait and see.
CP plugged into a UPS directly, so hopefully no surge coming in could cause the problem.

Any other suggestions will be welcomed.

You could assign a COS that limits the storage time unless there's some compelling reason for saving 68 messages. Maybe give this user a desktop messaging seat so they can save all their messages to PC. I don't think this is the cause of the shutdowns.

I still lean to the software as I recently had a customer with a client that had the same problem. I sold him a new CP software card and the shutdowns ceased. Make sure you have a backup before you go this route.

I have informed staff to tone it down on the message amount, but if I sell a new CP software do I have to re-load all the key codes or do I loose all of this?

I guess I should do a back up.

Thanks

I had a similar issue with a call pilot shutting down periodically and we had to keep resetting via (power cord). Eventually had to replace cabinet but you might be able to get away with just sw swap like Ex said.

have a great day and a better tomorrow

I will knock on wood, so far no call, will still follow it closely and decide, thank you all.

Keeping your fingers crossed is a good technique, lol
